(From the series: My AI Learning Journey)
🎙 Why a Podcast?
After my last project—creating math study drills for Japanese 5th graders with Genspark—I saw how powerful AI can be for making custom study materials. That sparked an idea:
👉 Why not create my own AI study materials, tailored exactly to my needs?
This time, I wanted something audible, so I could use my commuting time more productively. Short, engaging podcasts seemed like the perfect solution: not too long, not too overwhelming, and just enough to keep me focused without information overload.
🚧 The Pain Points with Current Learning
Right now, most of my studying is through LinkedIn Learning courses and YouTube videos. But I kept running into the same problems:
- I don’t know if a video is easy to understand until I watch for a few minutes.
- Sometimes the content isn’t interesting enough to keep my focus.
- Not every instructor explains in a fun, engaging way.
- It’s difficult to know what to study and which courses to take online, since I don’t even know what’s really out there.
This means I waste a lot of time just deciding and filtering before I even get to the actual learning part.
💡 My Original Command
So I gave Genspark this challenge:
“I would like to study and learn about AI and would like to use my commute time to listen to AI related information on my iPhone. I’d like 2 episodes per day, 5 days a week.”
I later adjusted this to 6 episodes per week, since that pace felt sustainable and fit better into my schedule. (Sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to find the right rhythm for learning.)
And I wanted these podcasts to cover:
- Latest AI trends & technologies
- Background and history of AI
- Beginner-friendly explanations
- Real-life use cases
- Types of AI in the market
- Technical aspects of how AI works
- Updates on useful AI apps
I also asked that each week’s content be fresh, accurate, and credible, delivered in English, and engaging like a real podcast.
👉 In Part 2, I’ll share what happened when I handed this challenge to Genspark: how it built me a podcast system, what worked, what didn’t, and how you can now listen to my brand-new podcast right here on my site.
